For the past couple of years, I have been building my collection of studio equipment and learning the skills required for shaping light. For many years I was happy to use natural light and Photoshop editing to add the finishing touches. This was fine for most situations but studio work brings a whole range of control to the shadows and highlights. It permits the photographer to decide how the light will look instead of depending on mother nature to dictate the light source and intensity. Studio work is currently a work in progress but one that brings great satisfaction while honing my skills.
